BIOGRAPHY

Sanford "Sandy" Winslow was born in Newton, Massachusetts, in 1950. He majored in English at Boston University, where his father had been a professor. After he left college, Winslow began creating stream-of-consciousness writings and then began drawing with crayons to try to express his thoughts and difficulties in a non-verbal way. Led into a world of creativity through his experiences, he has exhaustively experimented with various media, including painting, portrait photography, music, and interpretive dance. His white-on-black scratchboard works are an effort to bring order to the chaos which he finds in the world of the streets where he wanders, always accompanied by his portfolio and camera.
