Intel P35
One more point in favour of the P35 Express chipset as against P965 Express is support of DDR3, but in this review we’ve compared motherboards with DDR2 support. DDR3 memory is still in development phase and exposed to big latency as opposed to DDR2. The FSB1333 support CPU will work pretty well even with DDR2-667 memory provided that it operates in dual-channel mode and with latency under CAS4.
Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R with DDR2 and DDR3 support is worthy of special attention as it is able to use modern high-speed DDR2 memory modules and supports even faster upcoming DDR3 modules; the motherboard is incredibly good for overclocking and demonstrates nice performance results. Minor difference in performance of various chipset generations means that those users who already exploit the P965-Express motherboard should wait for release of the next generation of Intel chipsets prior to switching to DDR3.
